What modules are covered?

Mandatory Units

  • Monitor and maintain health and safety
  • Maintain and develop personal performance
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Prepare and cultivate sites for planting crops
  • Maintain the healthy growth of crops
  • Prepare and operate a tractor with attachments
  • Maintain equipment and machines

Optional Units

  • Plant Crops
  • Identify and remove unwanted vegetation
  • Carry out harvesting crops by mechanical means
  • Prepare the storage area and monitor crops during storage
  • Transport harvested crops
  • Load and unload physical resources within the work area
  • Transport physical resources within the work area
  • Prepare and maintain structures and surfaces
  • Carry out habitat management
  • Welcome, receive and care for visitors to sites
  • Process payments for purchases in a retail environment
  • Give customers a positive impression of yourself and you organisation

What qualification (will I get)?

Apprenticeship Level 2 Work-based Diploma in Agriculture  (Crops)
Functional Maths and English Level 1

How will I be assessed?

You'll need to build a portfolio of work, complete assignments and to pass a range of external assessments.

What can I do after this traning course?

If you successfully complete the Level 2 programme you may be able to progress to the Level 3 Diploma, with your employer's agreement.
