LIVESTOCK LEVEL 3

This course would suit you if you are interested in working in the farming industry and you are keen to learn practical skills in the workplace while supported by regular visits by our well qualified staff.

What modules are covered?

Mandatory Units

  • Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace
  • Communicate information within the workplace
  • Maintain and store records within the workplace
  • Establish, monitor and maintain appropriate conditions for livestock
  • Deliver basic treatments to livestock
  • Deliver basic husbandry procedures
  • Maintain, monitor and evaluate the provision of feed and water to livestock.

Optional Units - These are chosen by your tutor and employer and can include:

  • Establish, monitor and maintain site hygiene and bio security
  • Establish, implement and evaluate a herd breeding plan
  • Develop and implement plans for the disposal of waste
What qualifications will I get?

Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 Work-based Diploma in Agriculture (Livestock Production)

Functional Maths and English Level 2



How will I be assessed?

You'll need to build a portfolio of work, complete assignments and to pass a range of external assessments.

As well as progressing within your job role, you can also move onto Higher Level Apprenticeships and Foundation Degrees.
