Guidance on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Reaseheath College and DART Training are here to support our businesses, learners, apprentices and the community during this challenging period.

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister face to face delivery will be recommencing at DART from Monday 8th March replicating the arrangements in place for the autumn term. However this delivery will be phased to allow learners to be tested as per the requirements. We are required to offer all learners rapid flux tests and your apprentice will be issued with a home testing kit. Learners will be notified by their assessors which days they are to return to face to face delivery.

The businesses that we work with are vital to the land-based economy and we are here to provide guidance and signpost you to government information outlining the support available to you.

If you need any advice or information, please contact our dedicated apprenticeship team at apprenticeships@darttraining.co.uk and we will endeavour to respond within 24 hours.

Please see link below for the latest guidance from the government around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) apprenticeship programme response.

We have put together the frequently asked questions and information below to help guide you through this difficult time.

Learners will be back to face to face delivery from the 8th March.

Please note assessor tutors will be in touch with specific details on your return dates via email.

SME Apprentice – If whilst your apprentice is furloughed, they continue to study and access their training via our remote training programme, then their apprenticeship will continue.  The government has issued guidance to ensure that all UK employers are able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that are furloughed during this crisis, and will not be undertaking any work.  This guidance can be accessed here.

Levy Apprentice – If whilst your apprentice is furloughed, they continue to study and access their training via our remote training programme, then their apprenticeship will continue.  Do not stop their apprenticeship in your DAS account. The government has issued guidance to ensure that all UK employers are able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that are furloughed during this crisis, and will not be undertaking any work. This guidance can be accessed here.

Employee – The government has issued guidance to ensure that all UK employers are able to access support to continue paying part of their employees’ salary for those employees that are furloughed during this crisis, and will not be undertaking any work.  This guidance can be accessed here.

If you didn’t receive a home testing kit, please ask your assessor for one.

You will need to do a home test twice a week, every Sunday and Wednesday, until further notice.

There are clear directions in each box about how to administer the tests and how to record your results.

For more information on how to carry out your test at home, please watch this video to hear an NHS doctor talk you through the process, step by step.

If you test positive using your home testing kit, please notify your assessor, self-isolate and arrange for a PCR test at your local testing centre to confirm your positive test.

Please notify us of this as soon as possible via our email address apprenticeships@darttraining.co.uk. The apprentice will be placed on a Break In Learning (BIL) until alternative employment is found. Remote sessions may be able to continue whilst we find alternative employment for the apprentice.  We will contact you if you are a levy employer to advise of the actions to take on your DAS account.

Please note that this guidance is subject to changes in government guidance and will be updated accordingly. Therefore please check this site regularly and notify us of an changes to your apprentices employment circumstances via apprenticeships@darttraining.co.uk.

All NPTC Courses have been cancelled and rescheduled until March.

The NPTC team will be in touch regarding your course.

We will be in touch to rearrange off the job training once it is safe to resume face to face activity.

Where possible The EPA (practical elements) will continue to be delivered. Should they be rearranged your assessor tutor will be in contact via email with further updates.

Please email us at apprenticeships@darttraining.co.uk, as we are continuing recruitment activities for businesses, although initially this will be via remote activities.  Once normal business starts to resume, apprentices will be key to a business resuming normal operations.

We are awaiting guidance around this but expect predicted grades to be honoured. The government are currently discussing the arrangements for this with the awarding bodies and as further guidance is issued we will update this section.

Please see government guidance here which highlights advice for pet owners and livestock keepers on maintaining the welfare of their animals.
