Agriculture Stockperson

Learners will gain a Stockperson level 2 Apprenticeship Standard. Pre-apprenticeship programmes are also available in this area. This course would suit you if you are interested in working in the farming industry and you are keen to learn practical skills in the workplace while supported by regular visits by our well qualified staff.

The key role for a Stockperson is to raise the animals with optimal welfare and consideration for their needs throughout the different stages of their life. This is practical work involving a combination of technology and manual labour. Being a stockperson requires compassion, self motivation and the ability to work in a team and independently.

What can I do after this apprenticeship?

This Apprenticeship prepares learners for jobs such as:

You’ll need to build a portfolio of work, complete assignments and to pass a range of external assessments.

If you successfully complete the Level 2 programme you may be able to progress to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, with your employer’s agreement.
